How To Work Towards SIP

May 04, 2016

The world of business we live in would be like a vehicle moving without direction if communication were unavailable. Businesses exist because they have to make a profit. A business without proper communication methods has a high potential to fail. This means you should be on the lookout for outdated communications means. Therefore, you should consider moving from analog means of communications to efficient digital ones. One very effective move towards better communication in your business that you can make is moving towards SIP.

What is SIP?

Session Initiation Process (SIP), is a standard communication protocol for video and voice in a Unified Communications (UC) solution across data networks. This replaces the need for traditional analog connections with terminations. SIP has numerous benefits which are listed below.

The Merits of SIP

Substantially, cost saving and communication benefits are enormous for SIP. Your organization may be incurring costs from your current high-cost communication channels and constrained technology that isn’t efficient. Long distance charges, charges for incoming phone lines and maintenance costs may be reduced or zeroed by an SIP Trunking provider.

SIP Trunking allows you to pay only for the number of lines you need as opposed to being locked into many analog lines. You’ll be able to save by paying only the minutes used making calls or for the number of lines you need. You reduce charges, space consumed and IT costs by having less lines as well because phone connections will be only link to one point of entry.

Obtaining a Direct Inward Call (DID) for your company from a phone company is expensive. The charges incurred include maintenance and the hardware connecting shared physical lines. However, if you purchase a DID from a Trunking service provider, the DID will be less expensive as it is provided without this infrastructure.

SIP Trunking with VoIP increases services’ reliability as it provides a level of redundancy. Worries about system failures and emergencies are cushioned by the fact that SIP Trunking providers will reroute services to a redundant line to keep your business running and operational.

To make sure you benefit from the merits of SIP, assess your usage rates of communications in your business. SIP allows for easy and quick scaling giving a chance to remove or add channels if you underestimate or overestimate respectively. The savings you realize are huge, and you can use them to drive your business goals forward.
